10 greatest country music legends

I have been noticing less and less people know about the old country greats who made music what it is today so I just wanted to talk about some of them and my personal favorite songs by them.

1. Chris Ledoux


Rarely do I find someone who even knows about this legend of country music, even though he made 7 albums and pretty much every song he made was good. He left behind a great legacy, some of my personal favorites to name a few

  1. running through the rain
  2. this cowboy’s hat
  3. Johnson county war
  4. one less tornado
  5. the ride
  6. Workin’ mans dollar
  7. Riding for he fall

2.Johnny Cash


Everybody knows Johnny Cash but some people don’t know much about his music and he truly is one of the greatest of all time, he and his music will never be forgotten.

  1. Won’t back down
  2. Hung my head
  3. Ghost rider’s in the sky
  4. Man in black
  5. highwaymen

3. Merle Haggard


While he only just recently passed away Merle Haggard lives on in the hearts of many around the nation and will for years to come as many folks out in the sticks grew up listening to his music.

4.Waylon Jennings


Another unfortunate loss in the world of country music Waylon began stealing hearts all the way back in the 60s and continued to so for several generations until his death in 2002 he was know for his work with high profile artists like Cash, Buddy Holly, and Nelson he was truly an inspiration to country fans everywhere.

5.Conway Twitty


Known for his soothing voice Conway could sing a grocery list and make it sound good. He is one man I wish I could’ve seen live because he was truly a wonderful musician not tainted by modern technology. Plus his music drives women crazy.

6.George Jones


Yet another heavy loss in the minds of country fans Jones had change the name of the game and created a legacy for himself that continues to live on even though he does not.

7.Hank Williams Jr. (Bocephus)


Remembering now that not all legends are past on, some walk among us Ol’ Hank is perfect example An American great if there ever was one. There may never be another as influential and beloved as him.

  5. All my rowdy friends have settled down

8. Kenny Rodgers


One of my personal favorites but rarely talked about Rodgers has slower music but is another artist with a great voice and a lot of talent, He will continue to make great music for years

9.Willie Nelson


I personally don’t care too much for Willie Nelson, but in honor of his amazing career and great music I added him, even I cant deny the mans great influence on country western music and his long successful career

10.Randy Travis


The last of my list but not the last great country legend and defiantly not the least Randy Travis has been and will continue to produce great music for years.

So that is my list of some the country greats, but that is only a few there are many many more and if don’t already I recommend you listen some of the old school country greats as there is much amazing music there.   1. Aw, this was a very nice post. Spending some time
    and actual effort to make a good article… but what can I say… I put
    things off a lot and never seem to get nearly anything done.
